Portrait of Lily Joyce

Lily Joyce

"Lily Joyce is a Nashville-born drummer who’s been behind the kit since she was eight, when her grandparents put a drum set in front of her and let it take hold. Playing alongside her brother’s guitar lessons, she developed her feel early and found her way into the School of Rock House Band at just ten years old, becoming its youngest member. That’s where “LJ” stuck.

From the start, her playing was shaped by range. Zeppelin, James Brown, No Doubt, Paramore. At the same time, she was listening well beyond her years. Steely Dan, Jethro Tull, even pop records. That mix shows up in her touch and time today. Versatile, musical, and always locked in.

She went on to study Popular Music Performance at the University of Southern California, working with players like Will Kennedy, Patrice Rushen, and Freddie Washington. That foundation sharpened her instincts and expanded her voice behind the kit.

Now on the road with Conan Gray for the Wishbone tour, Lily is playing some of the biggest stages in the world. From Red Rocks to Rockefeller Plaza, she brings consistency, feel, and a clear musical identity every night."
