Matthew Harding
Matthew Hardingearned his Bachelor of Music and a Performer's Certificate from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY and was a member the New World Symphony. His primary teachers include John Martin, Charles Geyer, Barbara Butler, and Armando Ghitalla. In 1998 he has been a member of "The President's Own' United States Marine Band and he was appointed the band's solo/principal cornet in 1999. He is an active performer with several groups to include as principal trumpet of the Alexandria Symphony and as member of the Washington Symphonic Brass and Valor Brass Quintet ad s well as a substitute musician with Kennedy Center Opera Orchestra and Harrisburg Symphony. He has been featured as a soloist with "The President's Own" United States Marine Band and Chamber Orchestra.In 2010 he was invited to join Elvis Costello performing "Penny Lane" in the at the White House for the PBS broadcast of the The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song honoring Sir Paul McCartney.
