Monika Holst-Olsen

Monika Holst-Olsen joined the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra as Co-Principal Trumpet in 2024. She completed both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the Norwegian Academy of Music in 2022, where she studied under renowned trumpet players Jonas Haltia, Tine Thing Helseth, and Jeroen Berwaerts.

Prior to her permanent position in Kristiansand, Monika performed with various orchestras across Scandinavia, most notably holding a long-term engagement with the Gothenburg Opera.

She has achieved strong results in several trumpet competitions over the years and was the winner of the Next Generation Trumpet Competition in 2021.

Monika is also a frequent guest artist with the tenThing brass ensemble, touring internationally alongside her former teacher and Bach Artist, Tine Thing Helseth.
