Ralph Bowen
Ralph Bowen, a Canadian saxophonist, exhibited his musical prowess from a young age, leading his quartet and joining big bands at just 13. Grant-funded studies at Banff School of Fine Arts and Indiana University refined his skills. In 1985, he co-led the renowned Out of the Blue ensemble and recorded four albums for Blue Note Records. Bowen collaborated with Michel Camilo, Horace Silver, and Jim Beard, among others. He is an Associate Professor at Rutgers University and Visiting Associate Professor at Princeton University. His impressive credits include performances with jazz luminaries like Freddie Hubbard, Wynton Marsalis, and Maria Schneider. His albums received acclaim, including a Juno Award. His recent works showcase esteemed musicians, including "Power Play" featuring Orrin Evans and "Espana" with flamenco guitarist Nino Josele.
