Sarah Hanahan

Sarah Hanahan, a burgeoning jazz saxophonist based in New York City, is pursuing her Master's Degree at The Juilliard School. Originally from Marlborough, Massachusetts, her passion for jazz was ignited by her father, a drummer, who gifted her a saxophone at the age of 8. Sarah excelled as the lead alto saxophonist for her high school jazz band and continued her education at the University of Hartford's Hartt School of Music under the tutelage of Javon Jackson and Abraham Burton. Now at Juilliard, she studies under esteemed musicians like Bruce Williams and Ron Blake. Sarah's quintet has graced renowned festivals and venues, and she's also gained mentorship through programs like Betty Carter Jazz Ahead and WoodShed Network.
