Sarah Roberts
Dr. Sarah Roberts, Associate Professor of Saxophone and Jazz Studies at The University of Texas at Tyler, boasts a diverse musical background encompassing classical, jazz, and popular genres. She's a versatile performer, having graced stages with a range of ensembles from saxophone quartets to rock bands. Her jazz quartet, the Sarah Roberts Quartet, and local ensemble, The Jazz Connection, feature prominently in her East Texas performances. Dr. Roberts founded Essimar, a classical trio dedicated to unique instrumentation, and contributed to various orchestras, including Plano Symphony and Irving Symphony. Notable collaborations with artists like Phil Woods and performances for renowned acts like The Temptations underline her musical journey. Holding a doctorate from the University of North Texas, Dr. Roberts is deeply engaged in education, adjudication, and fostering new music. She currently holds a role as Assistant Director in the School of Performing Arts and continues her passion for music as a Selmer Paris Performing Artist and Vandoren Regional Artist.
