The Selmer Paris Legacy
To play a Selmer Paris is to experience music in its purest form. Founded in Paris in 1885, clarinetist and master artisan Henri Selmer began by crafting reeds and mouthpieces, then carried that same precision into clarinets and saxophones.
In 1929, Henri Selmer Paris acquired the Adolphe Sax workshops, preserving the saxophone's original lineage while advancing the instrument through refinements that would shape generations of design.
Across generations, Henri Selmer Paris became the global benchmark for woodwind artistry, uniting time-honored tradition with innovation. Its influence can be heard in jazz and classical music alike.
For more than 140 years, it has stood at the pinnacle of expression, defining excellence in design, tone, and feel. Revered by generations, these are the instruments artists trust to turn imagination into sound and musicians into true artists.

The Selmer Legacy
Rooted in the heritage of Henri Selmer Paris and built for the aspiring musician, Selmer (USA) began in New York in 1904 when Henri Selmer's brother, Alexandre Selmer, set out to bring the French tradition of instrument craftsmanship to a growing community of American players.
When Alexandre returned to France, he entrusted the business to his student, George Bundy, who continued importing professional models from Selmer Paris.
As music education and band culture flourished, Selmer became the brand that helped generations begin, progress, and find their voice, manufacturing dependable instruments grounded in French-inspired design.
By the 1960s, Selmer had become a leader in American wind instrument manufacturing, and moved production to Elkhart, Indiana. Today, Selmer carries its Parisian lineage forward with smooth, balanced response, precision keywork, and enduring quality for developing musicians refining their sound on the path to mastery.
