Brian Vincent

Conn Selmer Educational Clinician

Brian Vincent is currently the Director of Bands & Head of Department for Fine Arts at Hangzhou International School in Hangzhou, China. He Directs both High School and Middle School Bands.

In 2001, Brian graduated from the Faculty of Music at the University of Toronto with a Hons. Bachelor of Music in Performance and holds a Bachelor of Education from Simon Fraser University.

In 2003, Brian started as a Middle-School Band Director at Abbey Lane Public School in Ontario. Then he was asked to become Director of Bands at Thomas A. Blakelock High School. Brian directed the Bands at T. A. Blakelock H.S. to multiple awards provincially & nationally. In 2019 Brian and his family moved to Ethiopia to lead the Bands at ICS Addis, then in July 2022, they moved to Hangzhou International School, China. Brian received two Inspire Awards from the Halton District School Board; in 2017, Brian received the “Keith Mann” Canadian National Outstanding Band Director of the year.
