Dr. Michael Millar
Conn Selmer Educational Clinician
Dr. Michael Millar is a music industry faculty member at Cal Poly Pomona and served as Director of the University’s Center for Community Engagement. A freelance bass trombonist, Dr. Millar’s credits include performances with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Harry James, Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons, Tony Bennett, Barry Manilow, Kenny Rogers, Jerry Lewis, Artie Shaw, and Ray Charles. He performed with Southwest Chamber Music on the 2004 Grammy Award-winning CD, Carlos Chávez: Complete Chamber Works, Vol. 2. He is an ICF certified Executive & Professional Development Coach serving the creative industries, educators, small businesses, and the nonprofit sector. Dr. Millar has presented numerous workshops in entrepreneurship, community engagement, strategic planning, and professional development at universities and conferences. He is an Arts Commissioner for the City of Santa Clarita and is Co-Chair of the Committee on Career Development & Entrepreneurship for the College Music Society.
