Marc Whitlock
Marc Whitlock is a nationally respected music educator, clinician, and administrator with 34 years of experience building, leading, and sustaining high-achieving band programs across the country. From Marian Catholic High School (IL) to Hebron High School (TX) to the Plymouth-Canton Educational Park (MI), and Discovery Middle School (MI), Marc has guided ensembles to several Bands of America (BOA) National Championship titles, multiple State Championship titles, and National Concert Band Festival appearances. His work consistently blends musical excellence with strategic program development and student-centered instruction.
Marc has been a leading force in the drum corps activity for over 40 years, serving as an instructor, designer, and consultant to elite ensembles such as the Academy, Blue Stars, Cadets, Carolina Crown, Cavaliers, Madison Scouts, Phantom Regiment, Santa Clara Vanguard, Star of Indiana, and the Troopers. His work has helped numerous corps reach DCI Finals, earn High Brass Awards, and capture World Championship titles. Marc also served as the music manager for the Tony- and Emmy-winning Broadway production "Blast!" and was the inaugural Chief Judge for WGI Winds. He now works with various WGI percussion and winds groups.
Marc has authored numerous articles, trained educators and adjudicators, and serves as an Educational Clinician for various music companies. Known for his attention to pedagogy, passion for musical storytelling, and collaborative leadership style, Marc brings energy, expertise, and a servant heart to every event and opportunity in the arts.
