Wayne Dillon

Conn Selmer Educational and Marching Arts ClinicianWayne Dillon is the former director of bands at Elizabeth HS in NJ. He holds a master’s degree in jazz performance/pedagogy from the University of Miami (FL) and completed both his Honors Fine Arts and Education degrees from York University in Toronto Canada. Wayne currently works with the Nationally acclaimed Tarpon Springs jazz ensemble (FL), 2026 Essentially Ellington Finalists. Wayne is an active clinician and adjudicator for Music for All and is the Director of the Winds division for WGI. He is also on the DCI judge admin team as a music liaison. Wayne has taught the Boston Crusaders and the Cadets serving both as the music caption head. Wayne was also on the music staff of the US Army All American marching band. As a performer, Wayne has played and recorded with the Studio Jazz band and the Art Blakey ensemble from the University of Miami. He has also played with, Jeff Healey, Albert Collins, KC and the Sunshine Band, Al Chez, and Tower Suite. In 2008 Wayne was awarded the State of NJ Governor's teaching award, and in 2021 was named the outstanding NJ Jazz educator. He is a member of the Buglers Hall of Fame.
