Rules and Regulations
- Preliminary Recorded Round
- All applicants must register and pay ALL FEES ONLINE. Applicants must register online using a valid credit card and ONE (only) valid e-mail address. An applicant’s recording will not be reviewed unless payment is received by the September 1, 2025, deadline. Application fee is $40.
- All applicants must submit a video recording of J. Guy Ropartz's Andante and Allegro performed on a B♭ piston trumpet with piano accompaniment, along with the required orchestral excerpts for the recorded round. Applicants are responsible for ensuring a successful recording and must verify that their submission link functions properly before applying. Videos should contain only the designated competition repertoire.
- Stopping, starting, editing, or splicing of any kind is prohibited during the performance of Andante and Allegro by Ropartz. Orchestral excerpts must be recorded in the same session as the solo piece, as if performed in a live round.
- Videos must contain exactly and only what is to be performed in the recorded round.
- Recordings must be successfully submitted by 11:59:59 PM Eastern Standard Time, September 1; there will be no exceptions. Videos must be uploaded UNLISTED (not Private) to YouTube and the link to the video provided in the online Conn Selmer application. Videos not viewable by the judging panel will be disqualified.
- Uploaded videos may NOT contain any indications of the applicant’s school or teacher affiliations.
- Age Requirements: Applicants must be 25 or under as of October 18, 2025.

Rules pertaining to each round:
- All orchestral excerpts and solos are to be performed on either B♭ or C piston trumpet. The Ropartz is to be performed on B♭ Piston trumpet .
- Conn Selmer will provide an accompanist.
- Finalists will be notified on September 15th via email.
- Finalist will rehearse with accompanist and Axiom Brass during the afternoon and evening of October 17th at a time to be determined.
- All finalists are responsible for their own travel, meals, and lodging.
- Final Orchestral Section Round will be performed with Michael Sachs and Christopher Kiradjeff.

- Final interpretation of all rules remains with the Conn Selmer, Inc. All applicants accept total responsibility for the understanding of and compliance with Conn Selmer rules and regulations. Failure to adhere to Conn Selmer’s rules and regulations will result in disqualification and forfeiture of all fees.
