Description
Selmer SPC301 piccolos feature a premium student hand-cut headjoint with silver-plated keys hand-assembled on a Resonite body. Their effortless playability makes these piccolo flutes perfect for the beginning student, and their innovative design produces matchless acoustic response, rich first tones, and maximum variety across the tonal spectrum.
Borrowing features from our intermediate and professional piccolos, the 301 series of Selmer piccolos are carefully adjusted and balanced with German steel wire springs securing a feather-light, lightning-fast, and fluid key action. The SPC301 series also features a split E mechanism that improves response and stability of the third register E, and Pisoni pads for long-lasting pad seating and stability. Every Selmer flute is professionally set up, play-tested, and optimally adjusted at the Conn-Selmer Woodwind Factory located in Elkhart, Indiana.
Features
The key to the SPC301 student piccolo is the Grenadite™ hand-cut headjoint. Grenadite is a proprietary blend of 6 different materials, with the largest percentage being Grenadilla wood, providing a greater depth, richness, and variety to the tonal spectrum than standard ABS resin.
This headjoint is hand-cut and built to respond effortlessly, providing easy first tones that are warm, expressive, and even throughout all registers. The conical bore combined with the carefully designed tone hole system produces an incredibly in-tune piccolo with an outstanding resonance built to withstand extreme temperature and humidity.
