Conn Selmer Completes Eastlake Facility Closure and
Strengthens U.S. Manufacturing for the Future

Conn Selmer today announced the successful completion of the consolidation of its U.S. manufacturing operations into Elkhart, Indiana following the closure of its Eastlake, Ohio facility.

While the closure marks the end of an important chapter in the company's history, it also represents the next step in Conn Selmer's long-term strategy to strengthen its U.S. manufacturing and invest in global production capabilities designed to improve quality and consistency and strengthen product availability for student and school-related products.

Conn Selmer has built musical instruments in the United States for more than 150 years. Since 1875, generations of skilled craftspeople have produced instruments that have inspired musicians around the world. The Eastlake facility played an important role in that legacy, and Conn Selmer extends its sincere appreciation to the employees whose skill, dedication, and craftsmanship helped produce some of the industry's most respected brass instruments.

As part of the consolidation, Conn Selmer is concentrating its professional brass manufacturing at the company's headquarters in Elkhart, Indiana, where professional French horn production is moving alongside professional-level Bach, Conn, Holton, and King trumpets, trombones, and mouthpieces. All student and school-related instruments will also be inspected and play-tested in Elkhart.

The company's Monroe, North Carolina facility will continue to manufacture educational, concert, marching, and combo percussion, including "The Most Famous Name on Drums" Ludwig drum sets and Musser marimba, xylophone, and vibraphones. These products continue to be made in the United States by skilled craftspeople drawing on generations of manufacturing knowledge.
