Kimberly Luevano
Kimberly Cole Luevano is a highly acclaimed soloist and chamber musician, known for her virtuosic tone and technique. She serves as a faculty member at the University of North Texas and was a clarinet faculty member at the Interlochen Arts Camp. As the Pedagogy Chairperson for the International Clarinet Association, she has presented masterclasses and performances worldwide. Luevano is a founding member of the trio Haven, dedicated to creating new music for soprano, clarinet, and piano. Her disc "Atonement" with Haven, featuring world premiere recordings, was considered for a GRAMMY nomination. Additionally, Haven received a Chamber Music America Classical Commissioning grant to collaborate with composer Jon Magnussen on "Twinge." She has been featured in multiple chamber music releases on various labels and has performed with renowned orchestras and ensembles. Luevano is an advocate for contemporary American repertoire and has commissioned works for clarinet from notable composers. Her dedication to education led her to establish UNT's summer workshop program, ClarEssentials. Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, she pursued her clarinet studies in Paris, France, as a Fulbright Grant and Kade Fellowship recipient. She holds graduate degrees from Michigan State University and an undergraduate degree from the University of North Texas. As an accomplished Selmer Paris and D'Addario Performing Artist, Kimberly Cole Luevano continues to make significant contributions to the world of clarinet performance and education. She resides in Corinth with her family.
