Description

The intermediate SFL401 series flutes feature a hand-cut headjoint with a lip plate and riser made of sterling silver, a body comprised of silver-plated premium Japanese nickel silver, hand-assembled keywork, and striking gold plating on the lip plate.

The stellar acoustic of the Selmer flute starts with a multi-tapered headjoint for optimal acoustic response and resonance, and a sharp blowing edge of the embouchure hole creates a fast, easy response and articulation. The under and over hand-cutting provides a rich, expressive tone that is even throughout all the registers and gives the performer extreme dynamic control.

Keywork of the SFL401 series flutes has the highest specifications and tolerances alongside carefully adjusted and balanced wire springs ensuring a feather-light, lightning-fast, and fluid key action. French pointed key arms connect at the back of the key cup and extend to the center guaranteeing greater strength, stability, even pad wear, and ultimately less overall maintenance.

Every Selmer flute is professionally set up, play-tested, and optimally adjusted at the Conn-Selmer Woodwind Factory located in Elkhart, Indiana.
